Upcoming Building Code Changes & Strategies for Working Effectively with Code Officials
Code changes become effective July 1, 2025. Remodeling plans currently in the design phase may be subject to changes if not permitted before the end June. Educate yourself now to avoid delays.
- This educational session is targeted for residential remodeling designers and builders to help them understand how to bridge the gap between homes built under old codes and the new code requirements that will need to be met when remodeling.
- Mecklenburg County is implementing a new online permitting and inspection system in March for remodelers and their sub-contractors (plumbers, electricians, HVAC). Find out how to start using the new system and keep your projects moving forward.
- Learn best practices for building a good working relationship with Mecklenburg County code officials.
- Presenter: Patrick Granson is the Director of Code Enforcement for Mecklenburg County.
- The education session will be one-hour with time afterwards for your questions.
- Attendees will receive 1 hour of continuing education (CEU) toward NARI Pro certification and renewal.
